ROLE SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for the overall leadership and management function in the campus including integration with business and industry stakeholders. Furthermore, will be responsible for the sustainable performance of the site, ensuring alignment to the Netcare values and fostering a culture of participation and empowerment.
KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION
Operational process improvement and efficiencies
Initiate and implement operational activities of Netcare Education which will require alignment to the Netcare goals of broadening access to healthcare in South Africa, especially and to the vision of being a market leader in nursing education and healthcare related education.
Technological enablement
Ensure technological enablement with innovative as well as accepted business processes
Budget and cost management
Manage the education budget as well as understanding the financial fundamentals of the industry.
Branding and marketing
Live the Netcare brand from the inside out and align products, services, day to day activities and customer interactions with overall brand value propositions to drive the consistent delivery of brand promise through culture, systems, attitudes and employee relationships.
BEST AND SAFEST PRODUCT
Academic management
Oversee all related nursing, management development education and generic training activities according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of Netcare and Netcare Education.
Manage and lead the delivery of cost-effective quality education.
Research activities
Drive research activities and outputs of all academic staff on campus to discover new knowledge and then apply this knowledge to create new and improved products, processes, and services that meet the academic market needs
Ensure research of changes in the macro-environment (socio-political, socio-cultural, economic, technological and legal); scanning and analysing the macro-environment to identify trends, developments, opportunities and threats.
Able to participate in and ensure the management and production of research at the Netcare Education site and collaboratively with other institutions.
Governance, quality and risk management
Ensure that education standards, quality assurance, administrative process efficiency and risk management is maintained within the campus.
Achieve a satisfactory level of knowledge and understand the integrated clinical and corporate governance practices and controls to critically evaluate, implement and maintain compliance with good governance structures and processes to promote the ethics and values of the organisation/ industry. Originate action to improve existing work processes and conditions for improved quality of outputs.

Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
Understand the role and responsibility that the campus has towards all stakeholders (i.e. government regulators, industry competitors, network/ alliance partners, learners, the Netcare Group, employees, patients and the general community).

SKILLS PROFILE
EDUCATION
Required
Current registration with South African Nursing Council as a registered/professional nurse.
A Bachelors Degree and additional specialist qualification.
An additional qualification in Nursing Education and Management.
Master’s Degree.
Business Management Qualification.
Preferred
Studying towards A PhD to be completed in the prescribed academic period.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
A minimum of 3 years managerial experience is essential, preferably within the private sector and / or private education environment.
Proficiency and experience in operational and tactical management.
Computer proficiency at an advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite and digital learning platforms .
Proficiency in stakeholder relationship management.
A detailed understanding and ability to implement financial and business management principles.
Strong and persuasive negotiating skills.
Research competence.
KNOWLEDGE
Required
Proficient knowledge of legislative and business climate pertaining to healthcare as well as general and nursing education.
Preferred
Knowledge of government and private partnerships.
