Role Description The Relationship Officer – Sales role at Axis Bank is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. This role involves acquiring new customers, promoting banking products and services, and meeting sales and revenue targets for the assigned portfolio. The Relationship Officer engages with existing and prospective customers, understands their financial needs, and recommends suitable solutions across deposits, loans, and other retail banking offerings. Daily responsibilities include managing customer relationships, ensuring high service quality, handling documentation and compliance formalities, and coordinating with internal teams for smooth transaction processing. The role also involves regular follow-ups, market outreach activities, and accurate reporting of sales performance and pipeline.
Qualifications
Strong sales and customer relationship management skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and cross-sell banking products effectively.
Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to build trust with diverse customer segments.
Basic knowledge of retail banking products, processes, and regulatory requirements, with attention to accuracy and compliance in documentation.
Ability to work towards targets, manage time and priorities effectively, and maintain a high level of motivation in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce, or a related field; prior experience in sales or banking is an advantage.
Comfort with using banking systems, CRM tools, and standard office software for data entry, reporting, and customer follow-up.
Local market awareness in and around Chennai and willingness to conduct field visits and customer meetings as required.
