Role Purpose
A strategic C15 Director role with full accountability for physical security and safety services across fifteen Asia-Pacific markets. The role develops and enforces security policies, manages risk, leads incident response, and safeguards Citi's people and assets across both clusters. The incumbent is the principal CSIS security authority for the combined Asia South and JANA geography, collaborating closely with the Head of the Global Security and Intelligence Center (GSIC). Sydney is the designated base; candidates with right to work in Australia will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead the full security lifecycle — planning, policy, implementation and oversight — across fifteen markets; manage and develop nine direct reports.
Geopolitical & Intelligence: Maintain expert situational awareness across both clusters leveraging CSIS Intelligence Team resources; brief senior leadership on emerging risks; ensure intelligence-sharing protocol compliance.
Policy & Compliance: Develop, implement, and audit protective security standards consistent with Citi global policy and local regulatory requirements across all fifteen jurisdictions.
Risk Management: Review and approve Risk Assessments for all APAC corporate offices and campuses; develop market-specific mitigation strategies.
Incident & Crisis Response: Lead incident response and security crisis management across both clusters; manage emergency preparedness; report through GSMS; ensure proactive workplace violence prevention.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with senior Citi leadership, law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and government bodies across fifteen markets; act as trusted security adviser to Asia South and JANA business leadership.
Operational Oversight: Oversee security systems (access control, CCTV, alarms), manage budget, and lead vendor selection and contract management across both clusters.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, International Relations or equivalent
Professional certification (CPP / PSP) — advantage
Experience & Knowledge
15+ years progressive security management; 5+ years senior multi-geography leadership
Deep expertise in physical security, personnel security, and corporate campus environments across Asia-Pacific
Proven crisis management, incident response, and workplace violence prevention experience
Solid understanding of regulatory environments across all fifteen markets
Deep knowledge of JANA geopolitics: China-International relations, Korean peninsula, Japan's strategic posture, Australia's Indo-Pacific framework
Deep knowledge of Asia South geopolitics: India-Pakistan/China border dynamics, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh security environments, ASEAN maritime security and instability risks
Prior experience in Hong Kong and/or mainland China — strongly preferred
Established operational familiarity with South Asian and South-East Asian markets and stakeholder networks
Vendor management and budget oversight experience across multiple jurisdictions
Language
English — Essential Mandarin — Strong Advantage Cantonese — Strong Advantage Japanese / Korean / Hindi / ASEAN — Advantageous
