Engineer IV

For our client, we are seeking a Engineer IV to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.
This remote role will focus on industrial control systems that support water treatment operations, with responsibility for both technical execution and customer-facing support. The person in this position will help design, commission, and optimize automation solutions while partnering with project teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable system performance. This opportunity is well suited for an experienced controls engineer who can move comfortably between detailed technical troubleshooting and broader project delivery.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000 annually
Responsibilities
Design and develop industrial control systems for water treatment applications
Create and modify PLC programs and HMI applications to meet project requirements
Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and optimization activities
Troubleshoot complex automation and instrumentation system issues
Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support and recommendations
Conduct site audits of electrical and control systems with technical reporting on findings
Assist with calibration and commissioning of process instrumentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline
10+ years of experience in industrial process control, automation, or instrumentation engineering
Proven experience developing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial control systems
Strong understanding of P&IDs, ISA standards, instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics
Ability to develop project plans, define milestones, and manage technical deliverables
