Executive Director of Architecture

For our client, we are seeking a Executive Director of Architecture to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will shape enterprise architecture strategy across a large healthcare organization, ensuring technology direction is practical, scalable, and aligned with business outcomes. You will partner closely with senior leaders and technical teams to influence architectural decisions across multiple value streams. The position also requires mentoring senior architects, building coalitions, and establishing strategic technology partnerships that support long-term enterprise goals.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $175,100 – $334,750 annually
Responsibilities
Lead technical architecture initiatives across the enterprise application portfolio
Foster genuine relationships and collaboration among teams
Define and direct the organization's architectural strategic direction
Guide a team of technical architects and cultivate their leadership skills
Develop the organization's reference architecture that reflects practical building methods
Identify and establish strategic technology partnerships
Serve as a technical advisor to senior executives and clarify architecture impacts on business outcomes
Qualifications
15+ years in software development or architecture, with 20+ preferred
Proven leadership in large technical architecture initiatives across multiple value streams
Expertise across multiple technical domains and recognized by peers for solutions
Skilled in influencing and aligning executives on technology strategy and outcomes
Experience mentoring and developing senior architecture leaders
Strong collaboration and negotiation skills for effective coalition-building
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
