Lead Data Architect & Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Data Architect & Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.
This role will shape the architecture and engineering approach for a cloud-based data environment that supports analytical, operational, and regulatory reporting needs. You will own the design of scalable data models, automate critical data flows, and help ensure the organization has accurate, reliable data to support decision-making and close processes. The position partners closely with finance, analytics, and other business stakeholders to connect data from multiple enterprise systems into trusted data products.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $133,700 – $222,900 annually
Responsibilities
Design and maintain a cloud-based environment for diverse data types
Define architecture and data models aligned to analytical and regulatory needs
Oversee the full data lifecycle from collection through reporting
Automate data flows for month-end and quarter-end processes
Integrate data from CRM and finance systems
Develop data models for operational and analytical applications
Ensure accuracy and reliability across all data products
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Typically 7+ years of experience in data engineering or application architecture
Expert knowledge of enterprise data pipelines and financial reporting models
Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and scripting for data manipulation and optimization
Deep understanding of data modeling, including metadata and lineage standards
Strong proficiency with Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory
