For our client, we are seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineering: Dedicated to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will help define the technical direction for a dedicated platform environment while shaping broader architecture strategy. The position is focused on improving resilience, failover, and tenant management through scalable platform engineering practices. You will partner closely with engineering teams to strengthen service ownership, reduce operational toil, and support a decentralized architecture model.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $223,200 – $380,400 annually
Responsibilities
Set the technical direction for the dedicated platform environment while shaping architecture strategy
Lead platform transformation efforts in resilience, failover, and tenant management
Drive scalable architecture that aligns with a decentralized cells strategy
Enhance service ownership and operational maturity across engineering teams
Identify systemic reliability risks using data and architectural insights
Establish reusable automation and patterns to minimize operational toil
Mentor senior engineers and guide complex technical decisions across teams
Qualifications
5-7 years in Site Reliability, Platform, Infrastructure, or Backend Engineering at scale
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, automation, and observability tools
Strong programming skills in languages like Go, Ruby, or Python for production systems
Expertise in distributed systems and system design principles
Demonstrated technical leadership across multiple teams with a focus on complex initiatives
Experience leading platform transformations and scalability efforts
Excellent technical communication skills for mentoring and decision-making
