Software Engineer, Strategy Research Analytics

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer, Strategy Research Analytics to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will shape the reliability, structure, and performance of recurring analytics pipelines that support research-driven decision-making. You will help evolve a modern analytics platform, bringing stronger schema discipline, clearer data contracts, and more consistent workflows across teams. The position offers the opportunity to influence mission-critical data infrastructure in a highly analytical environment while partnering closely with engineers and stakeholders to improve transparency, scalability, and operational rigor.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually
Responsibilities
Own the implementation and operation of recurring analytics pipelines, with a focus on reliability improvements
Lead the architectural evolution of the analytics platform, including schema standardization and workflow modernization
Drive technical alignment across teams to consolidate analytics outputs
Build and maintain base analytics tables with strong schema discipline
Define and implement cross-pipeline reliability standards, including SLOs and observability patterns
Enhance transparency and usability through thorough documentation and clear data contracts
Optimize distributed computing and SQL query performance through effective data layout design
Mentor fellow engineers and strengthen operational and modeling rigor
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in analytics or data infrastructure systems
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with distributed query engines and large-scale compute systems
Proven ownership of large-scale or mission-critical data infrastructure
Strong expertise in data modeling and schema design
Familiarity with metadata management and data governance principles
