Associate Director, Experience Design

For our client, we are seeking a Associate Director, Experience Design to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will guide experience design strategy for complex client engagements, ensuring solutions are aligned to customer business goals and deliver meaningful outcomes.
You will partner closely with senior stakeholders, shape how design thinking is applied across the organization, and help influence the responsible adoption of AI within design practices.
The position also includes mentoring junior team members, strengthening the design function, and supporting work that blends research, prototyping, storytelling, and visual communication.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $143,640 – $273,000 annually
Responsibilities
Lead design vision for complex client projects
Develop design strategies aligned with customer business goals
Mentor junior design team members and elevate their skills
Build relationships with senior client stakeholders
Drive design thinking across the organization
Shape organizational strategy for AI adoption in design
Advocate for responsible AI use in client engagements
Qualifications
Deep understanding of human-centered design methods
Ability to align stakeholders through co-creation workshops
Strong storytelling and communication skills
Experience designing and conducting user research
Skill in creating prototypes of varying fidelity
Expertise in visual communication and information design
Knowledge of AI and data ethics in design practices
