Lead Engineer - Accounting Core

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Engineer - Accounting Core to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.
This role will help shape the technical direction of a core accounting platform, with a strong emphasis on scalable architecture and reliable delivery. You will lead major engineering decisions that improve developer experience, strengthen code quality, and support long-term system evolution. The position also calls for close collaboration with cross-functional partners and a hands-on approach to mentoring engineers through complex technical challenges.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $206,000 – $260,000 annually
Responsibilities
Refactor monolithic systems into distributed architectures
Enhance CI/CD tooling and TDD practices to improve developer experience
Build and maintain a diverse technology stack including C#, .Net, React, AWS, and Kubernetes
Develop technical solution designs aligned with long-term engineering frameworks
Mentor engineers through complex technical challenges
Contribute to global engineering standards and major code design decisions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience with large-scale distributed systems
Proven background in designing and building software across multiple languages and tools
Strong grasp of automated testing, refactoring, and agile delivery practices
Ability to lead significant code design decisions
Passion for mentorship and coaching to support others' technical growth
Growth mindset with a focus on maintaining and sharing technical knowledge
Drive to tackle large-scale engineering challenges with technical excellence
