As a Data Engineer at NSC, you will have the opportunity to work remotely, with fixed working hours from 8AM to 5PM Vietnam time (the rest is flexible).
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a 6-month data platform migration project for a client in the manufacturing sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the migration of data workloads to Snowflake, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance throughout the migration process. This role requires solid hands-on experience with Snowflake and previous involvement in data migration projects.
Main responsibilities:
● Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data engineering solutions using Snowflake.
● Support the migration of existing data platforms and workloads to Snowflake.
● Analyze existing data structures, pipelines, and transformation logic and translate them into the target Snowflake environment.
● Develop and optimize SQL-based data transformation and processing workflows.
● Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks throughout the migration process.
● Troubleshoot data pipeline and migration issues and ensure timely resolution.
● Collaborate with data engineers, architects, analysts, and other project stakeholders.
● Follow data engineering best practices to ensure scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
● Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the project team.
Must have
● Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification – required.
● 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, particularly in data engineering.
● Proven experience working on data migration projects.
● Strong SQL and data engineering skills.
● Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
● Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related technical issues.
● Basic English communication skills – sufficient for working in an international project environment.
Nice to have
● dbt Certification – a strong plus.
● Hands-on experience with dbt and modern data transformation workflows.
● Previous experience working in the manufacturing industry.
● Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data stack technologies.
