Electrical Design Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description
This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining detailed electrical schematics and control circuit drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and related 2D schematic tools. The Electrical Design Engineer ensures that all electrical documentation remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with engineering changes, design inputs, and project requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuit drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
Create and maintain comprehensive electrical drawings including power, control, I/O, terminal, and interconnection diagrams.
Update existing electrical drawings to reflect engineering changes, design inputs, and evolving project requirements.
Create and maintain accurate wire numbers, component tags, terminal connections, cross-references, and electrical symbols.
Ensure electrical drawings and documentation comply with project standards, technical specifications, and design guidelines.
Interpret electrical engineering drawings, design inputs, and technical specifications to produce clear and accurate schematics.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to clarify requirements and incorporate feedback into electrical designs.
Essential Skills
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, particularly in electrical schematic development.
Proficiency in developing and modifying electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control circuit drawings.
Good understanding of electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, control circuits, power circuits, and electrical components.
Ability to create and manage wire numbers, component tags, terminals, connectors, cross-references, and schematic symbols.
Ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings, design inputs, and technical specifications.
Experience with 2D schematic design tools.
Solid foundation in electrical design principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with general AutoCAD for electrical and schematic design work.
Exposure to tools such as EPLAN and Creo for electrical or schematic design is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Ability to work effectively within a project-based engineering environment.
Good communication skills to collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders.
