Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in The Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (HKJCGHI), the School of Public Health (Ref.: 537375), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year or two-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in biological/medical sciences or related disciplines, with research experience in virology, microbiology and/or immunology. Strong communication skills and a good command of spoken and written English are essential. Applicants should be organised, attentive to details, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in conducting flow cytometry, together with experience in measuring neutralising antibody responses following infection or vaccination, would be an advantage.
The appointee will deliver collaborative projects on immunological responses triggered by vaccination and viral infection. He/she will support the management and oversight of the research activities and assist in the supervision of junior research staff.
