The Center for Multilateral Strategy and Diplomacy (CMSD) is a global think tank dedicated to advancing research and dialogue on strategic, multilateral, and regional affairs. With a presence across 15+ countries, CMSD brings together young researchers, scholars, and professionals to examine emerging dynamics shaping the global order.
Role Overview
CMSD invites individuals to contribute region-specific insights, analyses, and policy perspectives that enhance understanding of European diplomacy, multilateral governance, and strategic developments.
The role combines research and networking responsibilities. The selected candidate will:
• Produce analytical content, including short articles, policy briefs, reports, and carousel explainers.
• Serve as a regional correspondent supporting CMSD’s engagement with European institutions, attend forums, diplomatic missions, and academic networks based in Brussels.
This is a voluntary and flexible position, ideal for young professionals and emerging researchers passionate about European affairs, EU policymaking, multilateral diplomacy, and international strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct independent and collaborative research on themes related to European Union governance, European diplomacy, regional politics, and strategic developments.
• Translate research findings into accessible formats, including short analytical briefs and social media carousels for CMSD’s platforms.
• Contribute to CMSD’s regional reports, events, and publications on European and multilateral affairs.
• Serve as a point of contact and regional correspondent, offering local insights and engagement support from Brussels.
Qualifications
• Final-year undergraduate, master’s student, or early-career professional in International Relations, Political Science, European Studies, or related disciplines.
• Strong analytical and writing skills in English, with a solid understanding of European institutions, EU diplomacy, and regional strategic affairs.
• Familiarity with EU policymaking processes and Brussels-based institutional dynamics is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support external engagement and institutional outreach.
• Prior international exposure, cross-cultural understanding, and a proactive attitude toward collaborative research work.
