Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:
Lead a team of brilliant software engineers across mobile platforms.
Hire and retain the best talent for the team.
Evaluate performance regularly, share and seek feedback.
Create clear career paths for each individual and help them grow.
Make sure that the team is happy and tasks get done.
Understand business goals, contribute to product strategy and work with product teams to implement and execute the product roadmap.
Understand and execute the mobile tech charter with emphasis on improved performance, app size reduction and crash-free rate as key metrics.
Able to break down yearly targets into quarterly OKRs and prioritise them.
Work closely with engineering leaders, product managers, designers and business analysts to plan and develop scalable and high-quality technology solutions at a rapid pace using agile methodologies.
Provide functional, design, and code reviews in related areas of expertise within the team and cross-team.
Engineering prioritisation of work, bandwidth allocation, sprint planning, leave planning and figuring out bottlenecks in advance.
Define processes for the Mobile Engineering team, including but not limited to release management, Unit testing, continuous integration and deployment, etc.
Provide hands-on technical leadership to identify and define the right components, systems, and capabilities for current/future product requirements.
Is able to take sessions and write blogs to make sure that we share what we learn.
Set up best practices for mobile development and champion their adoption at the same time.
Requirements:
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science from a reputed institute, or equivalent industry experience.
8 to 12 years of relevant industry experience delivering products in at least one of Android Applications, iOS Applications, or React Native.
1 to 3 years of management experience, with technical leadership skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Possesses knowledge of Mobile design patterns(MVP, MVVM, etc. ), CI/CD pipelines, application security, upcoming technologies in the latest Android/iOS versions, and other mobile engineering paradigms.
Ability to establish credibility with smart engineers quickly and provide longer-term vision and motivation.
Experience with recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining the best technical talent in the industry.
Extensive knowledge of mobile engineering best practices and principles as well as an understanding of scientific methods of problem-solving.
Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing in a variety of application frameworks, including production experience in at least one of Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, React Native, or Flutter.
Strong technical knowledge with a track record of individual technical accomplishments.
