Product Manager, Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Product Manager, Platform to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.
This role will shape a developer-facing platform that supports secure, scalable integrations and a strong end-to-end experience for external users. The person in this position will partner closely with engineering and customer stakeholders to define platform direction, clarify technical requirements, and guide product decisions. Success in this role will come from balancing core platform capabilities with customer needs while improving usability, extensibility, and operational clarity.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually
Responsibilities
Define and maintain the API contract philosophy for the platform
Write detailed platform specifications for engineering teams
Shape the platform roadmap by balancing foundational and customer-facing features
Conduct technical discovery with customers to pinpoint platform gaps
Collaborate with engineering to uphold developer ergonomics standards
Translate insights from customer interactions into platform requirements
Drive the developer experience roadmap in coordination with relevant teams
Qualifications
6+ years of product management experience focusing on developer-facing platform/API products
Deep expertise in API design, including REST, webhooks, and event-driven architecture
Experience managing a platform roadmap focused on authentication, configuration, extensibility, and observability
Strong understanding of creating durable customer adoption through product experience
Ability to analyze complex system trade-offs effectively
Track record of influence and driving outcomes in an IC role
Exceptional written communication skills for producing detailed platform specifications
