Job role summary:
As project manager you are responsible for the end-to-end project management, working directly with the customer and ensuring that the customer is satisfied with the quality and timely delivery of the project. You are able to oversee multiple projects from different sizes and you know how to coach and mentor your peers to drive the best result. The role of the project manager is customer facing for which you need strong communication skills and an engaging presence with the customer. Where required you will be involved in the presales stage of the project.
Role and responsibilities:
•Leads and develops the project plans for medium and large projects.
•Can oversee multiple large to XL size projects with guidance from the project lead.
•Responsible for satisfying customer expectations on product quality functionality and timely delivery.
•Provides and implements recommendations that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area.
•Receives some supervision and has some latitude on achieving objectives related to a specific program task, project or initiative.
•Regular and proactive customer communications to ensure all customer concerns are addressed readily.
•Participates in organizational initiatives as required.
•Responsible to provide customer reporting and project reporting.
•Executive customer interface and reporting.
•Ability to coach and mentor less tenured PMs.
•Project Financial Management
•Participate and oversee that all project relevant governance meeting are held within contract framework.
•Departmental initiative participant.
•Presale consultation.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
Communication
Strong and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written.
Customer
Primary customer interface, direct interaction with the customer. Engaging presence with the customer.
Organization
Strong in time management and setting priorities.
Analytical
Data validation for projects and project requests, project reporting.
Interpersonal
Ability to coach/mentor peers, result oriented, learning on the fly.
Tools
MS Office knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Suite, SharePoint, Adobe, Webex.
Systems
Project management systems for project management and time management, internal client systems.
Education requirements:
Minimum/Preferred
Education level
Minimum
High School Diploma / (GED) / Secondary School GCSE or equivalent
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Professional certifications:
Preferred
ITIL V4 Foundations or equivalent.
Additional role requirements
•
Minimum 7 years overall experience
•2+ years experience as project manager for US/European telecom OR
•4+ years experience as project manager in another domain
