You'll apply your editorial expertise to review, analyze, and enhance book manuscripts while helping improve editorial quality standards and contributing to the training of next-generation AI systems.
This opportunity is particularly suited to editors with demonstrated experience working on published books, including bestselling or award-winning titles. No prior AI experience is required — your editorial expertise and professional judgment are what matter.
Key Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and enhance book manuscripts with a focus on clarity, narrative structure, voice, and market alignment.
Perform advanced line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring as needed.
Provide detailed and actionable editorial feedback across manuscripts.
Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement in plot, character development, pacing, and thematic continuity.
Contribute to the development of editorial guidelines and best practices that support AI model development.
Draft, revise, and polish editorial commentary to ensure feedback is constructive, precise, and aligned with professional publishing standards.
Collaborate with project stakeholders through written and verbal communication to explain edits and recommendations.
Review and refine AI-generated editorial work for accuracy, consistency, style, and quality.
Support ongoing editorial quality control across assigned manuscripts and project deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Extensive professional experience editing published books for recognized publishing houses, prominent authors, or established editorial organizations.
Exceptional command of the English language, grammar, syntax, and literary style.
Proven expertise in manuscript editing, line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring.
Strong ability to evaluate narrative structure, character development, thematic continuity, voice, and overall manuscript quality.
Ability to provide incisive, nuanced, and actionable editorial feedback across different genres and formats.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to editorial accuracy and quality control.
Ability to work independently in a remote, contractor engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
Editorial leadership on bestselling or award-winning books is a significant plus.
Experience working with recognized publishing houses or prominent authors.
Experience developing or refining editorial guidelines, standards, or workflows.
