Role Description The Carrier Compliance Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh, India. This role is responsible for ensuring that carriers meet all regulatory, safety, and company compliance requirements before and during engagement. Day-to-day tasks include verifying carrier documentation, monitoring insurance and licensing status, maintaining accurate compliance records, and updating systems with current carrier information. The specialist will communicate regularly with carriers, internal brokerage and operations teams, and external partners to resolve compliance issues, mitigate risk, and support smooth transportation operations. Additional responsibilities may include assisting in audits, implementing compliance policies, and contributing to process improvements that enhance safety, reliability, and service quality.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of carrier compliance, transportation regulations, safety standards, and risk management in logistics.
Proficiency in documentation review, data entry, record keeping, and use of transportation or logistics management systems.
Effective communication skills for working with carriers, internal teams, and external stakeholders; ability to handle compliance-related inquiries professionally.
Analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying compliance gaps, resolving issues, and supporting audit and reporting activities.
Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple carriers, deadlines, and documentation requirements accurately.
Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and adapt to a fast-paced operational setting.
Prior experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or a compliance-related role is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is beneficial; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort with learning new software platforms.
Willingness to work aligned with North American business hours and meet time-sensitive operational requirements.
