AI Team Lead

We have recently started a journey towards using AI at scale, general digitalization, automation and better use of data – and this is where your abilities come into play. You will join the AI CoE team and work at the forefront of AI and machine learning. This role reports to the Manager of the AI CoE based in Hedehusene. You will work closely with teams from Denmark, Poland and Malaysia and be an integral part of a larger global Data & AI team.
What you will be doing
We are seeking an AI Team Lead to lead a team of up to 10 AI Engineers, Data Scientists, AI Platform Engineers, and student assistants. The team develops AI products and shared AI capabilities, taking solutions from experimentation through production and ongoing improvement. The role combines people leadership with technical judgment and delivery responsibility. You will work closely with the Product Manager and with other Team Leads across the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) to align delivery, share expertise, and build consistent ways of working. More concretely, the team lead will have following responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop the team, including regular feedback, performance reviews, and skills development.
Plan team capacity and organize delivery against priorities agreed with the Product Manager. Make dependencies, risks, and trade-offs visible early.
Collaborate closely with other AI CoE Team Leads on shared priorities, cross-team dependencies, technical standards, and the development of people and capabilities across the CoE.
Guide the team in designing, building, testing, and deploying AI products and reusable platform capabilities.
Establish engineering practices for code quality, evaluation, documentation, deployment, and maintainability, in alignment with practices across the AI CoE.
Ensure production solutions are monitored and improved for reliability, performance, quality, and cost.
Ensure the team applies corporate requirements for approved AI models and tools, information security, data protection, and responsible AI. Work with the relevant governance and security teams when risks require review.
Coordinate technical work across architecture, data, enterprise integration, security, operations, and business teams.
Support the Product Manager with technical input for roadmaps, stakeholder discussions, estimates, and vendor management.
Provide hands-on technical guidance where needed while enabling specialists in the team to own their areas of expertise.
What you bring
A master's degree in Management, Business related fields with technical blend while a degree in computer science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is preferred
5+ years of experience in AI and it would be great if you have experience with either the manufacturing industry or with GenAI. At least 2 years of experience in a people management role.
Must be fluent with making Powerpoints and presenting to senior stakeholders
Experienced with managing AI Engineers, Data Scientists, etc.
Knowledge of technologies such as Python, Azure, GCP, OpenShift, Kubernetes, SQL, and various other modern AI related technologies
Hands on experience in deploying models and algorithms into production systems is desirable
Experience with ML Ops tools and frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow, e.g. is desirable
Professional in English language

You can explain technical choices and delivery risks to non-technical colleagues and senior stakeholders.
