Junior Consultant - Governance, Risk & Regulation

At Altair, we're looking for a Junior Consultant to join our Governance, Risk and Regulation Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants, supporting a wide range of projects that help housing providers strengthen governance, manage risk and deliver better outcomes for residents.
Whether you are a recent graduate or have gained experience in housing, local government, regulation or a related sector, this role offers an excellent foundation to develop your consultancy skills and build expertise within a highly respected specialist team.
Location: Home-based with travel to client sites and offices
Salary: £30,000 per annum with training opportunities
Job type: Full-time, 35 hours per week
As a client-facing consultancy, flexibility in working patterns and location will occasionally be required to meet client and business needs, including travel and at times work outside of normal hours.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with senior colleagues to support the delivery of consultancy projects, including:
Conducting research, analysis and assessments to support client assignments.
Contributing ideas and recommendations to help solve complex challenges.
Supporting project planning and delivery to meet objectives, budgets and deadlines.
Preparing high-quality reports, presentations and client materials.
Contributing to business development activities, proposals and marketing content.
Supporting the development of new products and services.
Building positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
What we're looking for
We're seeking someone who is:
An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
Highly organised with attention to detail.
Comfortable managing competing priorities and working to deadlines.
Enthusiastic about learning and developing as a consultant.
A positive team player with a collaborative approach.
Adaptable, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
It would be beneficial if you have experience within social housing, local government or another relevant sector, although this is not essential. We welcome applicants who can demonstrate transferable skills and a genuine interest in governance, risk and regulation.
