Pacific Packaging Machinery, a product brand of ProMach, is looking for a Materials Manager to contribute to the success of the Corona, CA operation by leading procurement, planning, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and materials flow in support of custom filling and capping machinery.

Lead overall materials management for Pacific, including procurement, production planning, inventory control, receiving, stockroom organization, shipping, and supplier coordination.
Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, and Field Service to support the full project lifecycle from design release and order planning through machine shipment, installation support, and aftermarket needs.
Develop and maintain effective planning processes that support custom engineered filling and capping equipment, including shop order management, capacity visibility, material readiness, schedule adherence, and prioritization of customer commitments.
Improve inventory accuracy, cycle count discipline, part identification, point-of-use materials, and stockroom organization to reduce shortages, rework, expedite activity, and production delays.
Qualify, develop, and manage suppliers for quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness, and technical capability, with emphasis on machined components, fabricated parts, purchased assemblies, controls-related components, and other critical production materials.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators for supplier delivery, inventory accuracy, shortages, purchase price variance, inventory turns, cycle count performance, schedule adherence, material availability, and shipping performance.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles, visual management, standard work, and root-cause problem solving to improve material flow, reduce lead times, and support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives.
Maintain and improve bill of material accuracy in partnership with Engineering and Operations to ensure effective planning, purchasing, and production execution.
Assess shipping methods, carrier performance, routing, packaging requirements, and cost considerations to ensure customer equipment, parts, and materials are shipped safely, accurately, and on time.
Provide direct leadership for the materials team, including buyers, planners, inventory control, receiving, stockroom, and shipping personnel; set clear expectations, assign work, monitor priorities, and ensure daily execution supports production schedules and customer commitments.
Coach, train, and develop team members through regular feedback, performance conversations, cross-training, skills development, and accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement expectations.
Create a collaborative, high-performance team culture by promoting communication across shifts and functions, removing barriers to execution, recognizing strong performance, and addressing performance or attendance concerns promptly and professionally.
Serve as a hands-on business partner and technical resource to resolve material availability, supplier, inventory, scheduling, and shipment issues that impact production performance or customer commitments.
Support Pacific’s overall goals and objectives by driving disciplined business systems usage, accurate data, effective cross-functional communication, and a culture of urgency, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.

5+ years of materials management, supply chain, production planning, purchasing, or inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience in a manufacturing, materials, supply chain, planning, warehouse, or operations environment, with demonstrated ability to coach, develop, communicate expectations, manage performance, and hold teams accountable.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience in custom machinery, packaging machinery, industrial equipment, machining/fabrication, or engineered-to-order manufacturing strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of procurement, MRP/ERP planning, inventory control, cycle counting, supplier management, production scheduling, and shipping/receiving processes.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; Syteline or similar manufacturing ERP experience preferred.
Lean Manufacturing training or demonstrated continuous improvement experience desirable, including 5S, visual management, standard work, root-cause analysis, and KPI management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information, identify priorities, solve problems, and improve business processes using fact-based decision making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, project management, quality, finance, suppliers, and leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to develop reporting tools, metrics, and analysis to support operational decision making.
Well-organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
