Job Title: Swamper
Position Summary
Lojac, LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking Hydrovac Swamper/Helper to assist Hydrovac Operators with daily excavation operations. This position provides support on job sites by preparing equipment, handling hoses and tools, maintaining a safe work area, and assisting with non-destructive excavation activities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and enjoys working outdoors in a team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Hydrovac Operator with daily excavation and utility locating operations.
Handle vacuum and water hoses during excavation.
Prepare and clean job sites before, during, and after work.
Load, unload, and organize tools and equipment.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections with the operator.
Maintain cleanliness of the hydrovac truck and equipment.
Direct traffic and pedestrians when necessary to ensure a safe work zone.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.
Perform general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Previous construction, utility, or general labor experience is a plus but not required.
Willingness to learn hydrovac operations and advance within the company.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
Ability to work around heavy equipment and construction environments.
