Nurse Assistant

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Ranked as a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) is a 16-bed unit dedicated to caring for patients with complex neurosurgical conditions. As part of the Henry Ford Neurosciences Institute, you'll work alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team—intensivists, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, physical therapy, and nursing staff. Nurse Assistants are essential team members who directly impact patient outcomes and recovery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with Registered Nurses to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care that prioritizes safety, comfort, and dignity for patients with complex neurosurgical needs
Actively contribute to care planning and implementation by providing valuable observations and insights that help the RN optimize patient outcomes
Respond swiftly and confidently to emergent situations, following established protocols to ensure patient safety and support the care team during critical moments
Collaborate seamlessly with the multidisciplinary team to support comprehensive patient care and contribute to a culture of excellence

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Must meet one of the following required criteria:
Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)) but perform the same job role.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.
May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license
Certifications/Licensures:
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation.
