This position has a base compensation range of $80,000.00 to $90,000.00. In addition to this base compensation, you'll benefit from our competitive health and welfare programs, a 401(k)-retirement savings plan, opportunities for tuition assistance, and incentive compensation for eligible positions. Salary determination considers your skills, experience, job location, internal pay equity and job architecture. The Project Specialist with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics will be responsible for supporting the Seafreight / Airfreight Manager on following through for various projects. Structured and well crated project submission as well as driving continuous improvements through a strong follow-up. The individual is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects specifically out of gauge, oversized, and special equipment, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With the help and direction of the Project/Seafreight/Airfreight Manager, creates and executes quotes and bids received from all of Hellmann worldwide global network
Strong focus on customer service, timely responses and quotes issued to customers in timely manner.
Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
Identifies resources needed and proactively communicates with necessary parties
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
Effectively applies Hellmann methodology and enforces project standards and safety protocols
Minimizes our exposure and risk on projects and oversized cargo
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Identifies business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
Effectively conveys project message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
Timely billing in accordance with company standards and KPI’s
Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
Manages and coordinates all Sales visits for Hellmann agents and Hellmann overseas management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified persons will thrive both in an independent and team environment. You must have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and deadlines. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 to 5 years project coordination/freight forwarding experience, including specialized equipment, out-of-gauge freight and Breakbulk.
Experience working with terminals and making payments for terminal handling and crane / loading charges.
Associate degree required in Business Administration, Project Management, or related fields.
Ability to bring project to successful completion
Adapt at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working with deadlines
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Quoting oversized, out of gauge, and special equipment
Throughout understanding of how to book charters, breakbulk, oversized shipments
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Works closely with the Department Manager to provide Sales Leads to Key Sellers, Field Sales, Branch Managers, Regional VPs that have potential to become successful Hellmann customers.
Knowledge in databases and research that provide potential leads for the Hellmann network.
Supports Projects Manager in developing and providing current market research for any Project.
Continuous completion of quoting and bids to help support various RFQ’s
