Head of Product Development - Data, Systems & Insight

The Head of Product Development Data, Systems & Insight is accountable for defining and executing Dyson's strategy for Product Development information, data, systems, architecture, reporting and analytical capabilities. The role leads the Product Development Data, Systems & Insight Centre of Excellence, ensuring trusted data, scalable digital platforms and actionable insights exist to support portfolio management, engineering excellence, product delivery and executive decision making across Dyson's global Product Development organisation.
Working closely with Engineering, DDIO, RDD IT, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing and Business Unit leadership teams, the role ensures Product Development systems and information capabilities remain scalable, integrated and aligned to future organisational needs. The role enables trusted decision-making through modern data platforms, business intelligence, integrated reporting and digital capability development. The role is accountable not only for strategic direction, but also for the operational effectiveness, adoption and continuous improvement of the systems, data products and reporting services used across Product Development.
Accountabilities
Leadership & Capability Development
Lead Dyson's Product Development Data, Systems & Insight Centre of Excellence.
Define and own the vision, strategy and roadmap for Product Development information, systems, reporting and analytical capabilities.
Build and develop a high-performing global team, establishing governance, operating rhythms and capability ownership across accountable domains.
Develop succession plans, competency frameworks and organisational capability.
Champion modern data, systems and analytical practices across Product Development.
Product Development Data Strategy & Governance
Define Dyson's Product Development data strategy.
Own Product Development information architecture and governance.
Own Product Development taxonomy, reference data, data definitions and master data standards.
Establish enterprise data standards, quality frameworks and ownership models.
Establish data quality controls, stewardship models and improvement plans for critical Product Development information.
Ensure trusted data foundations support governance, reporting and decision-making.
Data Engineering & Information Architecture
Own Product Development data architecture and warehouse strategy.
Own the operational performance, adoption and continuous improvement of Product Development platforms, data products and reporting services.
Lead integration of new Product Development data sources.
Define standards for data modelling, integration and engineering.
Ensure delivery of scalable, reliable and secure data platforms
Business Platform, Product & Service Ownership
Own strategy and governance of Product Development business platforms.
Define platform roadmaps, capability priorities and investment decisions.
Ensure platforms remain aligned to future Product Development requirements.
Drive business value realisation through platform adoption and capability development.
Establish clear ownership, support models, service expectations and prioritisation mechanisms across accountable capabilities.
Act as the senior business partner for Product Development data, systems and insight demand, balancing functional priorities with enterprise value, capacity and strategic alignment.
Reporting, Analytics & Insight
Define Dyson's Product Development reporting, analytics and insight strategy.
Own reporting capabilities for portfolio performance, milestone governance, launch readiness, project health, resource visibility and delivery risk.
Establish a consistent reporting, metrics and performance measurement framework across Product Development.
Ensure leadership teams have access to trusted, timely and actionable information that supports portfolio, engineering and operational decision-making.
Lead development of business intelligence, executive reporting, predictive analytics and scenario modelling capabilities.
Establish Product Development Data, Systems & Insight as the trusted source of organisational insight for governance, performance management and decision-making.

Solution Architecture & Digital Enablement
Define Dyson's Product Development solution architecture and digital enablement strategy.
Establish architectural principles, standards and governance frameworks across Product Development systems and platforms.
Own the strategic direction of solution architecture, integration architecture and digital capability development.
Ensure Product Development platforms, integrations and digital capabilities remain scalable, secure and aligned to business needs.
Lead adoption of low-code, automation, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies whilst driving simplification, standardisation and reduction of technical debt.
About you
Professional experience
Significant experience leading data, systems, platform, reporting or analytics capabilities within a complex global organisation.
Experience defining and executing digital transformation, business intelligence, data or enterprise systems strategies.
Experience owning business-critical platforms, information ecosystems or data capabilities.
Experience leading architecture, integration or enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
Experience influencing senior stakeholders across business, technology and operational functions.
Understanding of Product Development, Portfolio Management, Resource Management or Engineering environments together with modern data, analytics and low-code technologies.
