Job Description:
Under supervision of the Outreach Supervisor, the Outreach Coordinator plans community outreach efforts and builds strategic relationships between the agency and various stakeholders across the state.
Coordinate with the Communications Supervisor to develop and implement the statewide community outreach plan to increase awareness of Georgia Access, including supervising the activities and services provided by vendors.
Assist with the development of public education and information materials, presentations and displays – including contributing to the agency’s newsletters, media/new media outreach, and website content.
Organize and participates at statewide community outreach activities to educate the broader community about Georgia Access and available resources.
Maintain and establish business plans regarding the development of relationships and contacts; maintain a calendar with all the outreach activities and events as planned statewide on the schedule.
Respond to public and community inquiries and update the Outreach Supervisor on matters of public interest and concern.
Oversee the maintenance of a community database of interested parties and issues.
Build, strengthen, and cultivate relationships with the public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of experience communications or job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 2 (GSP041).
