Senior Delphi Developer

About the role
Our client is looking for a Senior Delphi Developer to join their engineering team and contribute to the development, modernization, and maintenance of business-critical software applications. The ideal candidate is a strong Delphi developer with solid experience building and supporting desktop and/or backend applications, working with relational databases, APIs, and enterprise software environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving existing systems, and contributing to reliable, maintainable software in a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Delphi.
Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Analyze existing codebases, identify areas for improvement, and implement technical enhancements.
Work with relational databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and application issues.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
Contribute to modernization initiatives, refactoring, and migration of legacy components when applicable.
Write and maintain technical documentation for applications and development processes.
Ensure applications meet expected standards for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Delphi.
Strong knowledge of Object Pascal / Delphi and object-oriented programming principles.
Experience working with SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with existing/legacy codebases and performing enhancements or refactoring.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Advanced English communication skills.
