Engineering Director

Role Description The Engineering Director at BBS, Inc Boston is a part-time remote role responsible for leading the technical vision and strategy that supports the company’s sales and marketing operations. This role oversees engineering teams, guides software development efforts, and ensures systems and tools are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing engineering roadmaps, coordinating cross-functional projects, prioritizing technical initiatives, and driving successful integration of new technologies and platforms. The Engineering Director will mentor team members, establish best practices, and collaborate closely with stakeholders in sales, marketing, and operations to optimize workflows and system performance. This position requires proactive communication, thoughtful decision-making, and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical guidance in a remote environment.
Qualifications
Strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Demonstrated background in Software Development, including modern architectures, tools, and methodologies.
Proven Project Management capabilities, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope.
Experience with system Integration, connecting diverse platforms, tools, and data sources to support business operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is beneficial.
Experience working in or supporting high-performance sales or marketing environments is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional setting.
Ability to make data-informed decisions, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
