Company Description
Paydirt Games, founded in California in January 2024 by Dermot Smurfit, brings together an international team of expert programmers and dedicated gamers. The company focuses on developing innovative persistent world models that expand and challenge traditional video game experiences.
The video game Fatal Frontier 1869 developed by Paydirt Games was recently released.
This position will be hired by a sister company of Paydirt Games, Inc based in Puerto Rico.
Position Description
Multimedia Artist
This is a unique opportunity to join a start-up game company, currently in the early release of its flagship game. We are looking for a multimedia artist to assist across several departments and be a part of making Fatal Frontier 1869 an unforgettable game.
Motion Graphics & Cinematics: Create motion trailers, character spotlights, 2D animated cutscenes, gameplay capture, and gameplay videos.
Marketing & Branding: Work with the CMO and Creative Director to design and produce promotional creatives for social media, the website, the game, and internal presentations.
In-Game Assets: Where needed, assist the Creative Director in creating graphic elements required for the game world, UI, website assets, and loading screens.
Experience
5+ years as a multimedia artist or motion designer, preferably in the game sector.
Education
Degree in Multimedia or a related visual arts discipline.
Software Skills
High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects. Familiarity with 3D software (Blender/Cinema 4D) or game engines (Unity/Unreal) is highly preferred.
Portfolio
A robust, current portfolio demonstrating a strong foundation in motion, animation, typography, and composition, with a focus on the game sector where possible.
Versatility
The ability to work across multiple time zones is essential, and to pivot quickly between different design tasks while maintaining consistent visual standards.
Knowledge of 3D character design is a huge plus.
Applicants who do not provide a portfolio, either a PDF or a URL to their strongest work, will not be considered for this position.
