Position Salary Range: $52,000 -$59,000 annually; DOE
The School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering is seeking a Research Advancement Administrator, Pre Award, to join our Research Advancement Team. We are looking for an individual interested in making a difference in the world by directly supporting researchers who are making globally impactful advances in research, and who is seeking a career with opportunities for growth. The Research Advancement Administrator will collaborate with Fulton Schools of Engineering faculty in ECEE on the development, preparation, and submission of sponsored project proposals to a variety of funding agencies. This role does not carry responsibility for technical proposal content. The position supports faculty in the administrative aspects of proposal development, review, and submission. The ideal candidate enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment, has strong attention to detail, demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills, values continuous improvement, enjoys problem solving, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with important deadlines. This position requires the ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds, skill levels, cultures, and communication styles. This position reports to the Research Advancement Manager in ECEE. Essential Duties:
Provides administrative guidance during pre-submission, development, and administrative review.
Independently reviews funding announcements and provides guidance to investigators on eligibility and sponsor requirements.
Works with ASU Proposal Negotiation Team members and sponsors as needed for clarification of application guidelines.
Develops budgets and budget narratives in conjunction with investigator provided information and sponsor guidelines.
Creates budgets using accepted university systems and tools and sponsor budget formats.
Budgets cost share and obtains appropriate approvals when applicable.
Provides support in document management and in the uploading of grant and contract proposals to federal, state, industry, foundation, and other funding agencies.
Completes and reviews sponsor required forms and proposal components, including current and pending support, biosketches, and related documents, according to university policies and sponsor guidelines.
Verifies and supports ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory and financial compliance requirements.
Assists subrecipients with questions related to completing subrecipient forms.
Assists with post submission action items requested by the sponsor, including just in time requests, revised budgets, scope of work changes, and additional certifications.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in pre award sponsored research administration within a higher education or research environment.
Experience developing proposal budgets and justifications for federal, state, industry, or foundation sponsors, or demonstrated knowledge of budgetary principles, practices, and procedures.
Experience interpreting funding opportunity announcements and coordinating proposal submissions.
Knowledge of federal regulations, Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, and sponsor guidelines.
Strong experience in Excel and web-based tools.
Ability to take initiative, be diplomatic, and effectively manage stressful situations while multitasking and meeting deadlines through organization and time management.
Evidence of effective oral and written communication skills.
Experience using analytical skills and sound judgment to solve problems.

Working Environment:
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.
Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of a desktop computer, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
