Maintenance and Reliability Manager

The Maintenance, Repair & Operations Manager is responsible for supporting and executing Ardent Mills’ MRO strategy to drive lower costs, improved equipment uptime, and consistent data integrity across all sites. This role develops best-in-class MRO programs, supports the creation and management of asset and category BOMs, and ensures standardization of parts, processes, and critical spares. The MRO Manager provides technical support to plant teams, partners with procurement and finance to manage spend and data accuracy and leads change management efforts that strengthen MRO practices and reliability performance. Maintenance and Reliability Manager

As the Maintenance and Reliability Manager, you will lead the maintenance and reliability team to enable the plant's successful delivery of products. You will make recommendations to simplify and streamline day-to-day work processes while solving complex problems and approaching challenges with a fresh perspective.

Your Responsibilities
Manage maintenance supervisors and the maintenance team by setting the vision, strategy, and goals for the department.
Manage contractors and technical service technicians.
Oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment used in manufacturing operations.
Eliminate causes of equipment failure and maximize equipment life and reliability.
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, long-term capital projects, and corresponding budgets.
Oversee inspections of operating machines and equipment to ensure conformance with operational standards.
Review production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and adjust maintenance activities.
Manage the accuracy and maintenance of MRO inventory.
Maintain and prioritize the planned maintenance schedule in coordination with other departments.
Establish criteria for assessing the quality and safety of work performed by team members and contractors.
Ensure completion of maintenance work through reliability reports, site inspections, and collaboration with operations teams and vendors.
Investigate the condition of buildings, equipment, and grounds and recommend improvements to meet operational needs.
Evaluate maintenance personnel skills and support the development of training programs.
Manage work order backlog.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 9-12 years of relevant experience, including 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Subject matter expertise in maintenance processes, maintenance activities, and maintenance management systems.
Demonstrated experience managing capital projects.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing budgets.
Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance technologies.
Understanding of the operating context of site assets and process systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance safety practices.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Demonstrated electrical troubleshooting experience.
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Experience managing capital expenditures and projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of food safety requirements and HACCP principles.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection, and, at times, a respirator.
Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in a continuous manufacturing process that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Ability to work in: Hot and cold temperatures, including inclement weather. Indoor and outdoor environments. Dusty environments. Noisy environments. Areas with frequent movement, vibration, or motion from equipment and processes. Elevated locations, including stairs and ladders.
Ability to perform computer-based work and other administrative and managerial tasks.

Ability to travel up to 5%.
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, 7-day schedules, and alternate shifts when needed.

This position is based at an Ardent Mills production facility and requires regular on-site presence to perform the essential functions of the role. Work schedules may vary based on business and operational needs and could include shift work, overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities where applicable.

Competitive Compensation:
We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $102,600.00 - $136,896.10, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - MIP, 15% Annual.
