Process Operator

Reporting to: Team Manager

Summary
The Process Operator reports directly to the Team Manager and the Production Manager in the Team Managers absence ensuring the mill runs at optimized efficiency whilst maintaining the company quality standards and UFAS requirements.
They ensure that a high level of Health & Safety and Hygiene is always adhered to throughout the mill and that the production plan is on time to the targeted efficiency whilst maintaining high quality of product.
Additional responsibilities will include warehouse duties and when required FLT duties and other duties within reasonable request , in a safe and legal manner and to the correct quality standards and UFAS requirements, assist and support Engineers, Team Managers and Shift Technicians during breakdowns and planned maintenance.
Role and Responsibilities
Communicate to Colleagues and other departments if there are any issues is achieving the plan
Ensure Environmental management system is followed and adhered to complying with BS EN ISO 14001/50001
Ensure their shift is maintained to high level of H&S , and any issues are communicated in a timely manner and actions completed
Maintain site processes/standard in line with the UFAS code of practice
To ensure that the working area is maintained to an acceptable standard of Hygiene throughout shift
Run the intake/grinding/blending/pelleting/packing and loading processes in an efficient manner to deliver the production plan on time
Communicate all issue/delays against the plan to colleagues and other departments
Proactively reduce any areas that actively are generating waste
Maintain the routine machine maintenance and cleaning schedules
Optimise utilisation of finished product bin space
Cover all process roles during holidays and/or any other form of absence
Support the team with all processes and additional tasks.
Deputise for the Supervisor when required

Feed mill Experience required
Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Ability to communicate at different levels
FLT Driver
Experience of process control systems
A good understanding of Office software
