About the Job:
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Registered Nurse (On-Call) is readily accessible to respond to surgical emergency outside of the normal surgical schedule hours. The incumbent will care for patients aged 6 months through adulthood who require surgical/invasive interventions under one of
the various types of anesthesia. Nursing care is delivered utilizing a patient-centered approach and incorporating the Professional Practice Model. The Registered Nurse (On-Call) will provide patientcentered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes. The incumbent will integrate best practices and current evidence-based practices for delivery of optimal health care; will use data to improve quality and safety; and will use informatics and technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision making.

Use Electronic Medical Record information management and documentation technology to accurately and consistently plan and document patient care.
Education
Associate’s degree in nursing required.
Licensure/Certification
Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Ability to achieve unit-specific competencies within designated timeframes, including:
Safe care and handling of surgical equipment
Decontamination of surgical instrumentation
Scrubbing, gowning, and gloving techniques
Aseptic technique
Circulating general and specialty surgical cases
Operating room equipment setup
Microscope and surgical lighting systems
Electrosurgical units and laser technology
Orthopedic and specialty surgical systems
Specialty areas including ENT, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Orthopedics, Neurology, Gynecology, Genitourinary, and Robotic Surgery
