Vice President, Control Manager – Regional Chief Data Office (LAC)

You will partner across business, risk, and control teams to identify gaps early and drive practical remediation.
Job summary
As a Vice President, Control Manager in the Regional Chief Data Office, you will oversee data risk processes and controls across the Latin America and Canada region. You will partner closely with the Regional Chief Data Officer, business and corporate function Control Management teams, and the Chief Data and Analytics Office Controls Management team to identify, assess, and mitigate risk. You will help ensure alignment to data risk management policies, standards, and procedures, and support development of control frameworks aligned to firmwide direction. You will also help foster a community of practice for data control managers across the firm, enabling knowledge sharing and consistent application of best practices.
Job responsibilities
Develop and oversee inappropriate data management processes, risks, and controls, including evaluating control design as governing documents change and managing issues as needed.
Partner with Control Management teams and the Regional Chief Data Officer to complete risk assessments, including legal entity and compliance risk assessments.
Ensure key controls in data risk management policies and standards are accurately reflected in the firm’s risk and control assessment platform.
Collaborate with business and control partners to create and maintain control management framework documentation.
Support assessment of current-state controls to drive robust control management, including issue management and remediation.
Support a community of practice for data control managers across business and corporate functions, focusing on standards changes, common controls, and calibration.
Review reporting and key metrics to identify emerging risks or themes and enhance monitoring of standards adherence.
Support firmwide and regional Chief Data Office control management priorities, including preparing materials and responses for regulatory queries and meetings.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk, and Audit to understand priorities and support a strong control environment for tests, audits, and regulatory exams.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
7 years of financial services experience in controls, audit, risk management, data management, or compliance.
Demonstrated ability to assess risk, prioritize work, engage senior leaders, and manage change.
Experience partnering across organizations to analyze, design, and implement risk and control practices.
Demonstrated ability to influence a strong risk culture, including presenting to senior management.
Strong understanding of the three lines of defense model in banking institutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including building clear executive-level materials.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting priorities, and manage competing deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, make informed decisions, influence stakeholders, and explain rationale.
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
Ability to work from a JPMorganChase office full-time (5 days per week); timing will be determined by management.
