Kratos is looking for an experienced Cognos Report Developer. This position is a temporary, full-time, remote assignment.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Cognos Report Developer will support a backlog of reporting requests and perform enhancements, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing Cognos reports. This role is designed for a skilled report developer who can quickly integrate into the team, work independently, and deliver accurate, audit ready outputs for HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations. Work will involve modifying filters, logic, and data joins. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance, if needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Report Development & Enhancements:
Build, modify, and optimize Cognos reports according to specifications.
Adjust report filters, rules, formatting, and validation logic for accuracy.
Complete assignments from the reporting backlog, ensuring timely delivery.
Implement stakeholder-driven changes (HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, IT).
Data Troubleshooting & Validation:
Identify and resolve issues related to missing records, incorrect filters, or unexpected output.
Validate report accuracy against Costpoint as the source system.
Provide clear documentation of testing, approvals, software development steps and results for SOX audit needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Operations, and IT to clarify requirements.
Participate in quick-turn testing cycles with business users.
Communicate progress and roadblocks proactively.
Compliance & Audit Support:
Deliver audit-ready reporting aligned with company validation standards.
Document changes, test outcomes, and rule adjustments thoroughly.
Independent Execution:
Manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Respond quickly to evolving priorities within the reporting backlog.
Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and operational data.
Other job duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with advanced modeling and custom SQL.
Prior experience as a contractor/consultant supporting enterprise reporting teams.
Background in government contracting environments.
Soft Skills Required:
Self directed with strong ownership of deliverables.
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
Strong collaboration skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of hands on experience developing Cognos reports (Report Studio). Including legacy versions.
Strong SQL skills for joins, filters, and performance improvements.
Ability to interpret business rules and translate them into report logic.
Experience with HRIS/Payroll/ERP data structures (ADP, Costpoint, Deltek, or similar).
Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Home Office Environment.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).

Salary Range: $84,000-$100,000K
