VP of Product MarketingJob Overview
The VP of Product Marketing leads the organization’s product marketing strategy, positioning, go-to-market execution, and market development initiatives. This role connects product strategy with customer needs and commercial objectives, driving product adoption, strengthening market differentiation, and supporting sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute product marketing strategies aligned with corporate objectives, product roadmaps, customer needs, and market opportunities.
Product Positioning and Messaging
Define product positioning, value propositions, messaging frameworks, and differentiated narratives for key customer segments and markets.
Go-to-Market Leadership
Lead go-to-market strategies for new products, product launches, major releases, and strategic market initiatives.
Market and Competitive Intelligence
Direct market research, customer insights, competitive analysis, and industry monitoring to identify opportunities and inform product and marketing decisions.
Commercial and Growth Strategy
Partner with sales and business development teams to develop strategies that increase product adoption, customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
Sales and Marketing Enablement
Oversee the development of sales enablement materials, product communications, competitive intelligence, and marketing resources that support commercial execution.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with product management, sales, brand, corporate marketing, communications, and business development teams to ensure consistent market execution.
Team Leadership and Performance Management
Lead and develop product marketing teams, establish strategic priorities, define performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement across the function.
QualificationsEducation Background
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Work Experience
15+ years of progressive experience in product marketing, marketing strategy, product strategy, or related commercial functions.
7+ years of senior leadership experience managing product marketing teams or enterprise-level marketing initiatives.
Proven experience developing product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and integrated marketing programs.
Strong understanding of customer insights, competitive intelligence, market segmentation, and commercial strategy.
Experience in technology, financial services, digital assets, or other rapidly evolving industries is an advantage.
