Role Description
We are seeking a technically skilled, detail-oriented, and analytical Structural Designer to support the development of safe, practical, and efficient structural designs for building and engineering projects. The role involves preparing structural drawings, developing design details, supporting engineering calculations, and ensuring documentation meets project requirements, technical standards, and applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities include preparing structural plans, elevations, sections, details, reinforcement drawings, and construction documentation. You will work from engineering concepts and project requirements to develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for structural elements such as foundations, beams, columns, slabs, steel structures, and other supporting systems.
The role also involves coordinating structural drawings with architects, engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, fabricators, and other stakeholders. You will review design changes, update drawings, resolve drafting or coordination issues, and ensure revisions are properly documented and communicated.
You will assist with design calculations, material specifications, quantity information, drawing reviews, and technical submissions where required. The position also requires maintaining organized project files, checking drawing accuracy, following relevant structural codes and standards, and supporting design improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Structural Design, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of structural design principles, construction methods, materials, and engineering documentation.
Ability to interpret structural calculations, engineering specifications, design requirements, and technical drawings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, or other structural drafting and modeling software.
Strong knowledge of structural components, reinforcement detailing, steelwork, concrete structures, and construction drawings.
Familiarity with relevant structural codes, standards, and drafting conventions.
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on drawing accuracy and consistency.
Ability to prepare clear structural drawings, details, layouts, and project documentation.
Good communication and coordination skills when working with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and deadlines.
Knowledge of structural analysis or BIM software is an advantage.
