Freelance Civil Engineer-International Railways Standard (ICE)

-Independent Checking Engineer (ICE) to independently review, verify, and validate the Track works Detailed Design.
The objective of the ICE review is to provide an independent technical assessment of the Trackworks Detailed Design and identify any discrepancies, deficiencies, or non-compliances.
The ICE assessment reports will subsequently be utilized as supporting input for obtaining the relevant Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) certification for the design.
Review of the Trackworks Detailed Design against the Employer’s Requirements;
Verification of compliance with applicable international railway standards and contractual requirements;
Review of track alignment, geometry, interfaces, and associated trackwork design parameters;
Review of design reports, drawings, Civil 3D models, alignment and surface XML files, and associated technical documentation;
Identification of discrepancies, technical concerns, design deficiencies, or non-compliances;
Review of responses and revised submissions, where required;
Coordination with CJV, the Trackworks Designer, and other relevant stakeholders as necessary;
Participation in technical meetings and video conferences when required; and
Preparation and issuance of formal independent assessment/review reports for each design submission/package.
The ICE shall verify the design for compliance with:
The Employer’s Requirements;
The applicable contractual requirements;
Relevant international railway standards and codes
Any other applicable technical and safety requirements stipulated under the Contract.
Civil Engineering with +15 Years Hands on experience in International Railways Standards and solid knowledge of the following:
Track alignment documentation;
Trackworks drawings;
Detailed design reports;
Civil 3D (“C3D”) files;
DWG files;
XML files for alignment and surface data;
As-built survey information; and
Other relevant technical documents required for the review.
