Lead Software Engineer

Talexa is an early-stage skills-intelligence and workforce-planning platform for mid-market companies in the US, EU and UK. We help HR and business leaders see which skills they have, which they'll need, and what closing the gap is worth. We're pre-seed, working with our first pilot customers.
What you'll do
Own the Go backend and PostgreSQL data model end to end: design, build, review, deploy.
Own multi-tenant permissions and data isolation.
Run production: Docker, VPS hosting, blue-green deploys, monitoring, backups, incidents.
Build across the stack when needed, including React/Next.js screens from existing mockups and patterns.
Lead and support one engineer, and set engineering standards, including how we work with AI coding agents.
Must have
Production experience in Go, comfortable building on the standard library rather than heavy frameworks.
PostgreSQL depth: schema design, query tuning, migrations, tenant isolation.
Hands-on operations: Docker, Linux servers, zero-downtime (blue-green) deployments.
A security mindset: authorization models, multi-tenant permissions, secure defaults.
You have owned a system in production, not only contributed to one.
Competent
React, Next.js and TypeScript: enough to build and change screens following established patterns.
Nice to have
B2B SaaS or HR-tech experience.
GDPR in practice: processing, retention, subject access requests.
Working productively with AI coding agents.
