About the Opportunity
The Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations portfolio supports the strategic direction and product delivery for System IT infrastructure and operations, as well as the alignment of technology to business strategies. The team serves as the business partner for secure and reliable IT products, services, and operations.
System IT’s mission is to deliver IT services and solutions that are responsive to business needs, adaptive to change and essential to the mission of the Federal Reserve Bank. Core Infrastructure Services (CIS) is an integral part of the Infrastructure, Platforms & Operations portfolio supporting the stability and security of IT systems and operations. Our functions and product lines strive to be the forerunner in detecting operational shortfalls and providing processes and standards to keep Federal Reserve System systems running securely and reliably.
As an IT Advisor, you will be an integral part of our communications team, helping lead, draft, and coordinate executive and key stakeholder communications during high-impact IT incidents in collaboration with the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) team. You will also help create and coordinate Systemwide IT communications by informing IT partners and the Federal Reserve System employee base of key upcoming IT activities or deployments. Special projects may include strategic communications and storytelling related to the vision, value, successes and challenges of our organization. This position presents a unique opportunity to learn about the many stakeholders and offerings across System IT through day-to-day communications support while also helping drive and communicate long-term strategy.
We are looking for an applicant who has strong storytelling skills and experience supporting executive communications. The level of work required is considered advanced and the applicant must be able to work under minimal supervision.

What You Will Do:
Provide 24/7 executive and user communications support for major IT incidents including real-time drafting of updates and distribution of key messages in various mediums.
Develop executive presentations for Systemwide governance groups and other CIS executive meetings.
Help develop communication strategies to continually improve effectiveness, clarity, and impact of all communication types supported by the team.
Provide consultation and guidance to stakeholders, peers, management and executive leadership to implement effective communication strategies.
Translate complex subject matter into simple, well-understood messages.
Write, proofread, update and approve communications to service partners and users by translating complex technical subject matter into simple, well-understood messages.
Provide support for communications tool, including, but not limited to ongoing maintenance, coordinating business requirements for requested enhancements and testing, maintaining user access and coaching key stakeholders on communications skills.
Ensure adherence to content and brand standards and actively partner with functional business communicators to promote consistent messaging and user experience.
Prepare and deliver recommendations and presentations for management and executive leadership.
Monitor and analyze media trends to continue effective internal communications.
Shoot, edit and produce videos to enhance messaging/training.
Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience: Typically requires at least 6 to 9 years of experience for the Senior level Advisor, and 10+ years of experience for Advanced.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

Locations:
The selected candidate will reside within a reasonable commuting distance, as defined by the employing Reserve Bank, and will work full-time onsite.
The following Reserve Bank locations are preferred due to the concentration of System IT team members in these locations: Richmond, VA; Kansas City, MO; Dallas, TX; or New York, NY.
Salary:
The hiring range for the Senior Advisor is $121,000 to $166,000 annually. The hiring range for the Advanced Advisor is $139,000 to $191,000.
The listed salary is applicable to 5th District. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
