Performs welding and fabrication work to support the production of pump skids, energy-recovery systems, and HVAC components. Responsible for safe welding practices, quality workmanship, accurate assembly, and meeting production timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on structural steel, tubing, and components.
Fit, tack, align, and weld assemblies to specification.
Inspect welds for proper penetration, bead quality, and dimensional accuracy.
Operate fabrication equipment, grinders, saws, clamps, and hand tools.
Complete in-process quality documentation as required.
Maintain welding equipment and report needed repairs.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Record time and work performed in production systems.
Assist fabrication staff as needed to support workflow.
Qualifications
Required
o AWS welding certification (active and maintained).
o Minimum 3 years fabrication experience and at least 2 years welding experience.
o Ability to read and interpret tape measures, fractions, decimal equivalents, and basic prints.
o Demonstrated ability to weld safely, consistently, and with minimal rework.
o Reliable attendance and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred
o High school diploma or GED.
o Experience welding skid frames, HVAC mechanical assemblies, or structural components.
o Forklift or overhead crane experience (training provided if needed).
o Familiarity with welding procedure specifications and inspection criteria.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull for most of the shift.
Lift and handle 20–50 lbs repeatedly.
Use hands, wrists, and upper body for welding and tool operation.
Tolerate loud noise, heat, sparks, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.
Work Environment
Manufacturing production floor with moving machinery, fabrication equipment, and forklifts.
Exposure to welding arc flash, metal particulates, noise, and vibration.
Safety glasses, welding hood, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes required.
