Job Summary:
Abbott Northwestern Hospital is seeking a Med/Peds Hospitalist to join a highly respected, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional inpatient care. In this role, you'll serve as the primary physician for hospitalized pediatric and adult patients, providing comprehensive, patient-centered care, developing treatment plans, and partnering with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Location: Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN
Setting: Large urban quaternary care center with full specialty coverage
Schedule: Casual - day/evening/night shifts
Team Composition: Part of a large hospitalist 80+ team with 6 nocturnists and 8+ APPs

Job Description:
Provides direct patient care in a hospital setting.
Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
Performs minor surgical procedures such as paracentesis, central line placements and arterial line placements, and peripherally inserted central catheter line insertion.
Manages ventilator care.
Performs endotracheal intubation procedures.
Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
Actively participates in multidisciplinary approach to case management.
May participate in on-call rotation.
Quality.
Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows.
May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications
Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics
Licenses/Certifications
Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire
PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Multisource required
Licensed Physician - WI required upon hire
Board Certification or Board Eligibility by the American Board of Internal Medicine required upon hire
Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire
Prescription Monitoring Program required upon hire
National Provider Identifier required upon hire
Physical Demands
Medium Work*:
Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $350,100 to $366,400 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
