Civil Engineering Project Manager - Data Centers

This role will provide hands-on technical leadership for site feasibility, conceptual layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, access, and civil permitting. The successful candidate will have direct experience coordinating with local AHJs and will help strengthen Ramboll's technical capabilities in one or more strategic U.S. data center markets. To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and approximately 5+ years of relevant experience.

Your new role
You will join Ramboll's Civil Engineering and Design team within the Environment & Health business. The team supports data center, mission-critical, industrial, and other large-scale development programs through site due diligence, conceptual master planning, preliminary engineering, permitting, detailed design, and construction support. You will collaborate with civil engineers, CAD designers, environmental specialists, geotechnical engineers, transportation professionals, utility specialists, and other technical disciplines.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Lead civil engineering and land development services for data center, mission-critical, and large industrial projects from site selection through construction.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, risk, client communication, proposals, and subconsultants across multiple projects.
Direct technical work including site layout, grading, stormwater, drainage, utilities, access roads, erosion control, and permitting.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, agencies, and authorities while navigating codes, permitting requirements, and development standards.
Review technical deliverables, mentor engineers and CAD staff, support team growth, and contribute to client development and market expansion.
About you
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering with approximately 5+ years of relevant civil/site engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred, with ability to obtain licensure by comity in target states.
Extensive experience with land development and site civil design for large, complex projects, ideally in industrial, logistics, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments.
Strong project management and technical expertise, including grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, permitting, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
Experience working with AHJs and leading multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with Civil 3D and permitting practices in Pennsylvania, Washington, Texas, or Louisiana preferred.
