The Role
212 Visual is seeking an experienced LED Installation & Service Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on Direct View LED experience who enjoys both field installation work and ongoing service and support responsibilities. The position is based in the Indianapolis area, but travel throughout the United States will be required depending on project schedules.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting LED video wall systems throughout North America. This position requires strong technical knowledge of LED display technologies, mounting systems, video processors, and installation best practices.
When not actively engaged in installations, this individual will assist with warranty service, troubleshooting, training, system optimization, and technical support activities for partners and customers.
Responsibilities
Install and commission Direct View LED (DVLED) video wall systems in accordance with manufacturer and engineering specifications.
Assemble and align LED mounting systems, wall structures, and support frameworks.
Perform LED panel installation, calibration, testing, and acceptance verification.
Configure and commission LED video wall processors and control systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, and visual performance issues.
Perform field service, maintenance, and warranty support activities.
Provide remote technical support to partners and customers when not deployed on installations.
Conduct system inspections and preventive maintenance visits.
Assist with product evaluations, testing, staging, and quality assurance activities.
Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, operations, and sales teams.
Create and maintain installation documentation, commissioning records, and service reports.
Train customers and integration partners on proper system operation and basic maintenance procedures.
Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and industry best practices.
Represent 212 Visual professionally at customer sites and industry events.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of commercial AV installation experience with significant DVLED experience preferred.
Hands-on experience installing Direct View LED video walls.
Strong understanding of LED display technologies, including:
SMD
COB
GOB
HOB
MIP
Experience with pixel pitch selection, viewing distances, brightness requirements, and LED application design considerations.
Experience configuring and commissioning NovaStar video processors and control systems.
Familiarity with additional LED processing platforms including:
Brompton Technology
Colorlight
Megapixel
VX Series processors
LED controllers and receiving card architecture
Knowledge of video signal distribution, EDID management, scaling, color processing, and display calibration.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings, mounting diagrams, and installation documentation.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
ETCP Rigging Certification.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Genie Lift, Scissor Lift, or Boom Lift certifications.
Experience with flyable LED systems and rigging best practices.
Experience with structural mounting systems and wall reinforcement requirements.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and IP-based control systems.
Experience supporting enterprise, broadcast, sports, or large venue LED deployments.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly.
Ability to work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
Ability to travel frequently throughout the United States.
Comfortable working in active construction environments.
Ability to stand, climb, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods.
