Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
preferred
3+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, demonstrating increased responsibility over time in areas such as accounts receivable/accounts payable
Proficient in NetSuite, including creating and tracking invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining
accurate financial data
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proven integrity in all professional interactions, with clients and internal teams alike
Results-driven and resilient, with a history of meeting and exceeding performance goals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional time management abilities, with a consistent record of meeting deadlines
Skilled in analyzing data and solving complex accounting problems
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting
A day in the life
As the Accounting Associate, you have a hand in all general accounting activities including payables, receivables, payroll, cash management and reporting.
You play an essential role in shaping, maintaining, and improving our accounting
policies, processes and standards.
Responsibilities include:
Owning the accounts payable process ensuring vendor compliance, keeping detailed vendor records, tracking expenses, and making payments.
Reconciling bank, credit card, vendor, and client accounts.
Supporting VIP Clients including invoicing, responding to inquiries, receiving payments and collections.
Mentoring new employees in all accounting departments.
Assisting the accounts receivable team to ensure timely invoice delivery and collections.
Assisting auditors by gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries.
Maintaining knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in the accounting profession; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement process and policy changes.
Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
Assisting in the creation and management of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to support company objectives.
