Role Description The Assistant Manager role at HDFC Bank in Tamluk is a full-time, on-site position responsible for supporting branch operations and customer service delivery. The Assistant Manager assists in managing daily banking activities, including account opening, transaction oversight, cash operations, and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards. This role engages directly with customers to understand their needs, recommend suitable products such as deposits, loans, and payment solutions, and ensure a smooth branch experience. The Assistant Manager also supports business development initiatives, helps track performance metrics, and collaborates with team members to achieve branch targets. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, coordinating with internal departments, and maintaining high standards of accuracy, integrity, and service quality.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong customer service and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients.
Candidates should possess skills in basic financial analysis, banking operations, and understanding of retail banking products such as accounts, loans, and payment services.
Candidates should possess organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
Candidates should possess problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on risk awareness, compliance, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Candidates should possess proficiency in MS Office and basic digital banking tools, along with comfort working with core banking systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant banking certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience in branch banking, customer service, or sales in financial services is preferred.
Ability to work on-site in Tamluk, collaborate effectively with branch colleagues, and adapt to a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
