Description of Work
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position is located at Pamlico Correctional Institution in Bayboro, NC. This
is a medium custody facility housing approximately 575 male offenders. Reporting to a Correctional Programs
Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying a caseload of offenders, which involves supportive
counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and following up on offender
questions and problems.

Salary Grade: $37,377-$65,408

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Providing recommendations to the classification committee.
Assisting in coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education or recreation.
Planning and coordinating transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.
Documented knowledge of supportive counseling techniques.

This is a certified position, and employees may be subject to assist in any certified capacity as needed, which
includes Custody and Administrative Services. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
