Job Title: Prototype Parts Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
To coordinate and support processes that impact material deliveries, data integrity and other factors associated with Engineering development projects. Act as a liaison between Supply Chain, engineering, production, receiving, kitting and purchasing for purchased and fabricated parts to be used in prototype and pre-production product builds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Provide accurate parts status and document quantity, order entry date, parts delivery date, and provide storage location.
Support existing and future material strategies.
Participate in and lead continuous improvement events improving transactional integrity and key materials metrics for engineering projects.
Ensure parts are correctly stored and labeled.
Reporting, escalating and tracking parts shortages for engineering projects.
Assist in the correction of Bill of Material (BoM) inaccuracies and implementation of BoM changes into production.
Cycle Count inventory discrepancies and participates and leads cross functional teams to resolve root cause and ensure accurate inventory.
Prioritization of hot parts needs with Fabrication and Purchasing to ensure schedule attainment. Involves lifting to 40 pounds.
Must be able to maintain a high level of organization throughout all daily activities.
To include, but not limited to, documentation of all verbal and written correspondence with others (internal and external), proper filing of such information, planning and scheduling of appointments and the coordination of such with others within the department and/or company, time management and the prioritization of tasks.
Must document on the purchase order all details related to supply of a given component to allow for tracking and/or follow-up by others in the event of absence of the employee.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required to support departmental and organizational objectives.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Requires a High School diploma or GED.
JD Edwards experience a plus.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Ability to learn and apply that knowledge quickly.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.
Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.
Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 lbs. approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5 % of time.
Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and record written information.
Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.
Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.
Environmental: Exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
