Senior Full Stack Engineer - App Experience

The Role
We're seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our App Experience team, where you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining the core services and infrastructure that power the HiveWatch platform. You'll work across the stack ranging from both our core backend systems that power our security platform, and our web and mobile apps which customers interface with daily, ensuring our customers can rely on fast, accurate, and always available security intelligence.
What You'll Do
Design and ship complete features from the web and mobile apps to the backend owning the full slice.
Work closely with Product to understand tradeoffs between possible solutions, and how to implement decisions across the stack.
Architect and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing systems.
Support production systems through incident response, troubleshooting, and break-fix activities to maintain service reliability and customer trust.
Build and extend solutions with observability in mind to ensure service level agreements with our customers are met, and understand usage patterns.
Reliably deliver features and services on AWS using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and modern service delivery practices.
Mentor junior engineers and drive technical decisions that influence the team’s architecture and development practices.
Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation approximately 1 week per month as needed.

Deployments: GitHub Actions, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm
Infrastructure: AWS (Kinesis, Serverless, RDS, EKS), Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in senior roles
Backend
Strong experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot
Experience designing and implementing GraphQL and REST APIs
Strong proficiency with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, query tuning
Experience building full-stack applications in microservice architectures
Frontend
Strong experience with TypeScript and web or mobile development
Experience working with Product/Design in iterating on customer facing features
Familiarity with with web and/or mobile best practices
Experience, or a willingness to learn both React and React Native
Infrastructure
Experience with modern cloud services and cloud-native development
Experience with containerization using Docker and deploying applications to Kubernetes
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
Experience using monitoring tools to measure and alert on performance and reliability issues
General
Experience with and enthusiasm for AI Native software development practices
Strong system design skills and experience with distributed, high-scale applications
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work in agile environments
Data driven individual who will use metrics to influence decision making
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience with AWS
Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
Background in security technology or enterprise software
Experience with observability tools and performance optimization
Startup experience and/or early stage SaaS experience
Additional Info
Salary range for this position: $145,000 to $178380 per year
Eligible to participate in HiveWatch Equity Incentive Plan
Final offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of relevant experience and expertise, location, and other business considerations.
